"Into the Wild" personal project

During summer, I spent quite a few hours drawing this piece (the trees seemed to go on forever!) for the Blisters: Director's Cut show at The Print Club. The brief involved coming up with an eye catching poster to represent a movie (any movie at all!). Sadly, I didn't make the cut (the bar was set extremely high- I did end up printing some of the excellent posters that made the grade!), but I still wanted to create a poster for one of my favourite films.

"Into The Wild" is a great film based on the diary of Christopher McCandless, a US law student who suddenly decides to give away his college fund to charity, and begin drifting across the North America on a journey that leads to the Alaskan Mountains.

It's Something Hells!- London Barber Shop Project

I've had a little personal illustration project on for the last few months, influenced by the great variety, uniqueness and eccentricity of barbers shops in and around London. Everyone has their own personal preference for where they have their hair cut, and I wanted to use this interest as a starting point for a small series of prints.

The first piece is "It's Something Hells", a rockabilly barbers and 50's hair salon based in Soho, run by Mr Ducktail (featured) and Miss Betty. The place itself is a brilliant emporium of Hollywood glamour, motorbike gangs &  rock and roll paraphernalia.

Behind the Scenes of the Circus: Animaux Circus- Photoroll

OK, I'm not a professional photographer, but these photos should give an impression of the wealth of creative talent on show at this beautiful location. Sadly, this is one of the last shows at The Brick Box's old pub and stables set-up on Coldharbour Lane, Brixton (a hub for exciting events throughout last summer), but I will be keeping an eye on any future goings-on.

Hosted by the excellent Animaux Circus, a trio of colourful creatures known as Rory, Lana and Margaux.
